Come back next week for a new embroidery pattern.
In all this frigid icy weather, I thought I'd share this little bit of Spring. I call this guy Stick Man. Like a woodland sprite, he resembles woody tree branches with delicate young leaves unfurling from the branches across his back.
Come back next week for a new embroidery pattern.

Happy third Monday! Today's pattern is this lovely mermaid embraced by the waves rendered in aquas and blues. I think she looks best on a black background to reflect the deepest depths of the oceans. But she also looks fantastic on white in a very Mediterranean way.
As usual you can find her on Etsy and Craftsy This is another ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I made for a swap on ATCsForAll. The challenge for the swap was a black and white drawing with just a pop of red. I love making layered clothing in drawings. I just wish I could make layers look better on me.
Come back next week for a new cross stitch design! It's the First Monday of the Month which means it's time for a new embroidery pattern!
This pattern was inspired by Maori designs. I originally worked this design with a series of others on a set of napkins to give to my sister in law from New Zealand. It incorporates multiple elements: The Circle of Life which includes the path of life ever ongoing, with no beginnings and no end. Koru (Spiral) is the symbol of new growth, new life, peace and tranquility. In this design there is a circle within a circle and waves spiraling around it. Included in the patter are a range of different sizes of the pattern: 4 inches, 3.5 inches, 3 inches, and 2.5 inches. You can find it at Craftsy and Etsy. I missed my Monday post due to family travel. To make it up to you, here's a picture of one of my favorite ATCs. I made this for a Mermaid themed swap on ATCsForAll.com. This miniature painting is done in acrylics and measures 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches.
I'm working on my next embroidery pattern for next Monday. Thanks! |
