Watch out for a new embroidery pattern next week and have a Happy Halloween!
I made this little ATC a few years ago for Halloween. I made her using pen and ink with watercolor pencils. The original went to live in Australia but she still is one of my favorites.

It's the third Monday in October and that means it's time for a new Cross Stitch pattern!
With dark purple bat wings and a shimmering emerald gown, this fairy is not your typical garden variety girl. Like a rich, dark tulip or elegant orchid, she stands out dramatically. I think she looks best on black canvas. Use a strand of metallic with the thread for her gown and wings for an even more dramatic effect. Grid Size:100W x 100H Design Area: 5.43" x 7.07" (76 x 99 stitches) As usual, she can be found on Craftsy and Etsy. Come back next week for My next hand embroidery pattern will be released on 4 November. This is another one of my early ATCs. I used Acrylic paint but thinned it down and applied it in the style of a watercolor. I love the gown with its multi-colored layers ranging from deep blue to the palest red. In my mind's eye, the blue fabric is heavy and structural and each underlayer is progressively lighter weight and more fluid.
This card is still in my collection awaiting a good trade. Next week I'll be posting a new Cros It's the first Monday in October and it's time for a new embroidery pattern. Last week was a fantastic week as my little witch cross stitch pattern was featured on Craftsy. For everyone who bought my pattern, THANK YOU!
Today's pattern is a little more of the Halloween spirit. Each branch of this spooky tree leads to a bat. It's a cute and different look for Seasonal embroidery. It would look charming on a tea towel or in a Mini-Art quilt. It might even set off a boring looking bag. Look for it on Craftsy and Etsy! I don't do yarn. I can't crochet and I detest knitting. But for those that do like to hook, I'd like to share my friend's website. CraftyDeb has been designing crochet patterns for years and makes some adorable designs. They're cute enough that I almost want to pick up a hook. One of my favorites is Bona Fide. He's one of her most quintessential designs and totally appropriate for the season. But check out her other patterns too. Some are free, all are cute.
Don't forget next week I'll be publishing a s |
