There is a site on the web that is incredibly awesome if you're a crafty geek like me. Fandom in Stitches hosts some incredible patterns, particularly paper pieced quilt block patterns (there are also some embroidery patterns available too - Check out the Doctor Who Stitch Along).
I discovered them late last year and immediately got started on the Harry Potter Project of Doom. It's a quilt designed to look like a bookcase right out of Hogwarts with cauldrons and owls and all. But I only got three blocks done when they launched the new Block of the Month, Not All Who Wander Are Lost. Yes, that's right, the Lord of the Rings in quilt form. Pictured here is my Nazgul block. I'm very far behind on this because I'm working on my embroidery and cross stitch patterns so much lately (as well as working and looking after my offspring). I'm determined to finish these projects and love that they are available to inspire crafters to be nerdy and nerds to be crafty.
Next week is a new cross stitch pattern! This may have a little Irish flavor.
